JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — Staff members at the West Hickman Wastewater Treatment Plant rescued a doe found trapped in one of the facility’s water tanks early Wednesday morning.
Shortly before daylight on Feb. 3, workers reportedly found the deer, according to a Facebook post from Grit & Grace Farm & Wildlife Rehabilitation. Staff immediately pulled her from the tank, moved her into a garage bay, turned on a heater, and contacted the Cynthiana-based animal rehab facility.
According to the Grit & Grace staff, the recent extreme cold has likely frozen many natural water sources, and the doe was likely trying to find water to drink.
