Man found dead in Woodford County amid road closure: What we know

WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — Officials with the Versailles Police Department and the Kentucky State Police announced on Monday that a body was found along KY-421 in Woodford County during a crash investigation.

State police announced on Feb. 9 that the area of East Leestown Road from Roach Station to Moores Mill was temporarily shut down due to an investigation. The area was closed for several hours and reopened around 10:45 a.m. on Monday, according to officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Officers with the VPD told FOX 56 News that around 8:40 a.m. on Monday, they were dispatched to reports of a crash involving a vehicle on Leestown Road between Coach Station and Moores Mill Road. When authorities arrived, a dead person was found at the side of the road.
