Kentucky schools lose federal funding for community programs

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – 40 Kentucky schools lost program funding earlier this school year when a federal grant was discontinued midstream.

The grant was three years into a five-year award of $47 million. The Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence said the goal of the money was to bring students, families, community partners and the school districts together.
