House bill could alter discrimination complaint resolution in Kentucky

FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — A bill advancing in Frankfort could change how discrimination complaints are resolved in Kentucky.

While supporters said that House Bill 468 strengthens legal protections, some local civil rights leaders said it could limit how they do their jobs.

“It’s wrapped up in a package that looks nice, that says, ‘Hey, this strengthens Kentucky civil rights laws,’ which, how can you be against that? But then I compared it to an onion; the further you get into it, the more it stinks,” Executive Director of the Lexington Civil Rights Commission Raymond Sexton said.
