Garbage truck catches fire in downtown Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Crews with the Lexington Fire Department (LFD) responded on Tuesday morning after a garbage truck reportedly caught fire.

According to Lexington’s traffic ticker, the truck caught fire on the 400 block of Race Street near East Fourth Street, creating a traffic hazard.

Authorities in Lexington said no one was injured in the fire. LFD crews sprayed the emptied debris with water to ensure that no flames would ignite before another truck came to haul it away…
