‘Worst moment of my life’: Mother speaks out after son escapes Lexington school, sues district

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Lexington mother is speaking out after a frightening moment involving her son at school, and she’s now filing a lawsuit she hopes will lead to change.

Back in November of last year, the young boy was found near New Circle Road when he was supposed to be at Meadowthorpe Elementary School.

“It was the worst moment of my life, and I couldn’t imagine life without him. And so I was just so scared and just really wanted to lay eyes on him,” said Leslie Weston.

According to the family’s attorney, the child left the school during the school day, made his way out of the building, and off campus…
