New $14M expansion announced for major Lexington shopping center

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — More than 30,000 square feet of new spaces for shopping and dining are just one factor of a new expansion announced on Tuesday coming to the Summit at Fritz Farm.

The big expansion, announced on March 17, comes less than a year after the popular shopping and lifestyle destination in southern Lexington was acquired by Hendricks Commercial Properties (HCP).

Planners said the $14.1 million project would add three new retail buildings to the walkable center that brings a curated mix of national retailers and local favorite spots together, with construction set to begin later in March and the delivery of shell spaces to tenants set for December.

“This next phase of development reflects the continued momentum at Fritz Farm,” said Rob Gerbitz, CEO of Hendricks Commercial Properties. “Consumers are looking for destinations that bring together shopping, dining and experiences in one place. This expansion allows us to introduce new brands while continuing to elevate the overall experience for the Lexington community.”
