Fayette County deputy superintendent resigns week after internal investigation

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Fayette County Public Schools Deputy Superintendent Houston Barber submitted his resignation March 5, less than a week after an independent investigation found he failed to meet professional expectations.

The resignation letter was obtained through an open records request.

Barber was one of three administrators listed in a Missouri law firm’s report. Investigators said Barber failed to coordinate communication with the groups in charge of budgets. They believed his actions added to the confusion surrounding the district’s financial fallout…
