LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – It has been a very warm and record-breaking day today across the Commonwealth as we have seen temperatures soar deep into the 80s. Some storms are expected to arrive tonight and bring us back to reality on Monday.
Clouds will increase this evening with showers and thunderstorms arriving sometime either just before midnight or into the overnight hours. A few storms may be severe, especially north of I-64, with large hail and damaging winds as the main threat. Temperatures plummet after the storms pass, with lows in the low to mid 40s.
Mostly cloudy skies will be with us to start the day on Monday, with a stray lingering shower. More sunshine arrives in the afternoon as it will be a significantly cooler day with highs only in the low to mid 50s.
