LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) —The superintendent of Fayette County Public Schools has been named a finalist for a top leadership position in Missouri, highlighting the district’s recent progress.
Demetrus Liggins was selected as one of three finalists for the superintendent role with the Hazelwood School District (HSD) in St. Louis. District officials said the finalists were chosen following a nationwide search and extensive vetting process.

Liggins called the recognition an honor and credited the achievement to the collective work of students, staff, and the broader community in Lexington.
