Woman facing charges after trying to hit people with her vehicle, officials say

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A woman was driving recklessly and attempting to hit pedestrians, police say.

According to an arrest citation, an officer was called to Whitney Young Park today for reports of a woman driving her vehicle through the grass, doing donuts in parking lots, and attempting to hit pedestrians. One of these pedestrians was an 8-year-old child.

The woman, 40-year-old Kathryn Johnston, continued to try to hit fleeing pedestrians as they ran away from the vehicle, says the arresting officer.

She then fled the scene, and witnesses say she was driving extremely fast through the neighborhood. As she ran from the scene of the crime, another officer said he saw her try to run a car off the road on Vine St…
