Frankfort commemorates one year since devastating Kentucky River flood

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) – One year after the Kentucky River reached its second highest crest in the city’s history, residents gathered on Paul Sawyier Drive to mark the anniversary of the flood that damaged homes, businesses and government offices.

The river jumped from eight feet to nearly 50 feet over several days, forcing residents from their homes and triggering months of cleanup and rebuilding.
