RICHMOND, Ky. (KT) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) at the Richmond Post are conducting a death investigation, following the discovery of human remains in a rural part of Madison County over the weekend.
According to the KSP, Post 7 in Richmond was contacted just before 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 4, 2026, in reference to possible human remains discovered in Western Madison County.
The initial investigation indicates human skeletal remains were located in a wooded area off Moran Summit Road in Madison County, not far from the Garrard County line. The remains were removed by the Madison County Coroner and transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy and identification.
