University of Kentucky considers higher costs for student tuition and fees

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – The University of Kentucky is considering a new tuition and fee schedule that would raise costs for students.

The university’s Board of Trustees is considering the new schedule Friday. If approved, it would raise costs by nearly 2% for most students in the 2026-2027 academic year. This is the maximum increase allowed for resident undergraduates. These limits are set by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.

For a full-time, resident undergraduate, the tuition and mandatory fees would raise $135 from the current costs, totaling $7088.50 per semester…
