Saint Joseph Health sites in Ky adding CommonSpirit to their names

Saint Joseph Health announced today that its hospitals, clinics and care sites throughout Kentucky will begin using the CommonSpirit Health name in July 2026. It is important for patients to know that this change will not affect their care, their physicians, their nurses or the services received at any of the locations.

Seven Saint Joseph Health hospitals will adopt the CommonSpirit name while adopting or maintaining the “Saint Joseph” name that Kentucky communities have embraced for generations. New hospital names include:

  • CommonSpirit Saint Joseph Hospital – Lexington (Harrodsburg Road location)
  • CommonSpirit Saint Joseph Medical Center – East Lexington (Eagle Creek Drive location)
  • CommonSpirit Saint Joseph Hospital – Bardstown (formerly Flaget Memorial Hospital)
  • CommonSpirit Saint Joseph Hospital – Berea
  • CommonSpirit Saint Joseph Hospital – London
  • CommonSpirit Saint Joseph Hospital – Mount Sterling
  • CommonSpirit Continuing Care Hospital – Lexington locations

Additionally, Saint Joseph Jessamine will pivot its naming to center around the specialty and patient care offerings that each facility is uniquely known for.

Saint Joseph Health has been part of CommonSpirit Health since 2019. By formally adopting the CommonSpirit name, Saint Joseph Health’s 5,200 team members, including 1,440 nurses, and 250 physicians across eight hospitals and 85 care sites will visually align with their parent organization.
