LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Paws 4 the Cause, a non-profit organization in Lexington dedicated to rescuing animals from extreme situations, is hoping to further their impact on the community by offering more affordable pet health care options for people facing financial struggles.
Anita Spreitzer, Vice President and General Manager of Paws 4 the Cause, told FOX 56 that over the past two years, the organization has seen a rise in people surrendering their pets. According to Spreitzer, affordability is one of the main reasons why people have been giving up their pets.

That’s why the Paws 4 the Cause facility on Newtown Pike recently underwent major renovations to be able to offer a low-cost spay and neuter clinic, as well as low-cost healthcare.
“We have three exam rooms that have been built, and different people have made donations for those exam rooms to be built. We have an X-ray room,” Spreitzer said. “We have an isolation room for animals that have parvo or that are sick, that need to be isolated away from other animals.”…
