KENTUCKY — Anderson County Schools officials closed Anderson County High School for the remainder of the day Tuesday after a reported threat prompted an evacuation and law enforcement response.
According to Superintendent Sheila Mitchell, the threat was communicated to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office by phone earlier in the morning. As a precaution, students and staff were evacuated from the building while other schools in the district were placed on lockdown.
Law enforcement agencies, including the Kentucky State Police, responded to investigate and secure the campus. Authorities later cleared the building, and officials arranged for students to be dismissed…
