Man accused of splitting woman’s head open with a metal bat in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A man was arrested on Thursday for reportedly splitting a woman’s head open with a metal bat.

On Friday, May 22, Lincoln police were called to the area of South 18th and D streets on the report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival, officers found a woman who had a visible gash on her forehead.

According to court documents, the woman and Jeffery Buford, 53, had gotten into an argument.

Court records stated the woman attempted to go to her vehicle when Buford threatened to shoot her. The woman retrieved a metal bat from her car, which Buford took from her. He then struck her in the forehead with the bat…
