Lincoln plan would turn former VA hospital into affordable senior housing

LINCOLN, NEB — A new initiative in Lincoln aims to address the growing need for affordable housing for older residents by transforming a nearly century-old former Veterans Administration hospital into apartments for seniors.

The city is supporting an $18 million plan to redevelop the building on South 70th Street into 95 affordable apartments, with a preference for veterans.
