E-bike and scooter thefts up sharply in Lincoln so far this year

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Lincoln Police Department has seen an increase in e-bike and scooter thefts so far this year, compared to last year’s numbers.

Since January, 98 e-bikes and scooters have been stolen in Lincoln, a jump from 70 during the same period in 2025.

LPD said 73% of the stolen e-bikes and scooters had unknown serial numbers. Additionally, 68% of them were left unlocked…
