‘Where there is beef, there is freedom’: Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins and Gov. Jim Pillen talk with Nebraska ranchers about new initiatives.

LINCOLN, Neb. – Governor Pillen and Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins met with ranchers on Monday night to discuss the plan moving forward for Nebraska beef.

After Trump’s elimination of Tariffs on imported beef, Secretary Rollins has begun rolling out plans to help ranchers believe in the beef cattle industry and the direction it is headed. Starting with unveiling 5 new steps today in Lincoln, including the new “BRAND” initiative.

“The beef retention and national development endorsement, the BRAND is what we are calling it. Which is a fast tracked new heifer retention endorsement for our tradition livestock risk protection or LRP. Allowing producers to ensure the economic value of retaining a heifer for breeding which will help us rebuild the herd.”…
