Neb. State Senator Carol Blood to run for 1st congressional district

LINCOLN, Neb. (KCAU) — Nebraska State Senator Carol Blood will be running for the state’s 1st congressional district against incumbent Mike Flood.

Blood will be officially kicking her campaign off at IBEW Local 265 in Lincoln on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 1 p.m., where she will make a formal announcement .

Republican Dan Frei announces primary challenge against Bacon

The state senator previously ran for governor of Nebraska as a Democrat in 2022. However, she lost to Republican Jim Pillen by 25 points .

Blood was first elected to the Nebraska Legislature in 2016, and then reelected in 2020. She is a business consultant who formerly served as CEO of the La Vista Chamber of Commerce.
