LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Gloomy skies…areas of fog…cool temperatures…and a light mix of precipitation will highlight your midweek forecast… We continue to be on the northern periphery of a series of disturbances traveling across the southern-third of the country. With our expected temperature regime…and moisture being advected into our area…we will see additional chances for fog…freezing fog…light rain and light freezing rain again Tuesday night-into-Wednesday. Be mindful that the potential for fog and freezing fog will mean compromised visibility and some slippery roads and sidewalks. A period of light freezing rain would add to the threat of slick conditions for the Tuesday night-into-Wednesday time period. Temperatures hovering in the mid 20s-to-lower 30s Tuesday night…and in the lower-to-mid 30s Wednesday afternoon…will keep a variety of precipitation “types” in play. We urge you to stay up-to-date with the latest forecast information…and be prepared to exercise caution with any travel plans over the next 24 hours. Moisture chances begin to “dry up” later this week…although our forecasts will continue to call for copious amounts of cloud cover all the way through Saturday. Sunshine is expected to return to the region by Sunday and Monday…with temperatures returning to the 40s…with 50s possible by the middle of next week.
