Man Arrested After Stabbing During Fight in Northwest Lincoln, Police Report

A physical altercation in Northwest Lincoln led to a stabbing and subsequent arrest on Tuesday, according to police reports by KLKN.

The incident was reported around 8:50 a.m. near the intersection of Northwest 48th and Superior streets.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, informed officers that he was involved in a fight with 28-year-old Mathew Bliss when he was stabbed in the abdomen with a knife.

Following the incident, the victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were determined not to be life-threatening.

Mathew Bliss was later located and apprehended by law enforcement officials. He faces several charges, including first-degree assault and possession of a controlled substance.

Further complicating matters, during the booking process at the Lancaster County Department of Corrections, Bliss reportedly exhibited aggressive behavior towards an officer.

Police stated that Bliss headbutted and spat on the officer, potentially leading to additional charges.

Investigations continue as authorities seek to understand the full context of the altercation and its aftermath.
