RESIDENTS of Bellevue, Nebraska just got a major upgrade to their city: they have a 100,000 square-foot indoor water park on the way.
With $60 million going into its creation, it’s sure to be a hit.
According to local radio station KHAK, the city council approved a bond this week that will pay for three hotels along with the massive main attraction.
It garnered a unanimous vote for a project that has already been in the works for two years.
And their facility is expected to be among the best 10 waterparks in the country.
Taking inspiration from one of the top contenders in Dallas, Texas, this sprawling new space in Nebraska will be indoors and heated.
Open year round, the cold winters won’t stop anyone from getting a little taste of summer – and the city expects 2,000 visitors will attend daily.
The $60 million bond set aside, which will likely take 15-20 years to pay, will go towards the waterpark, while the Good Life Transformational Act, “will divert taxes to the city that would normally go to the state,” according to the site.
