LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The last man to be sentenced in the killing of a Lincoln man in 2022 learned his fate on Thursday. Derrick Pearson, 34, was sentenced to 14 to 18 years behind bars on one count of manslaughter. He’d previously been charged an additional count of second-degree assault, but prosecutors dropped it in exchange for a guilty plea.
