Lincoln Public Schools approves property tax increase in new budget, citing decrease in state funding

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Lincoln Public Schools Board of Education voted to approve its budget for the 2024-2025 school year at its Tuesday meeting. Board members voted 5 to 1 to approve its proposed budget which increases the property tax levy by a little more than 4 cents over the next year. The increase comes after the district decreased its levy by roughly 14 cents last year.
