Nebraska vs. UCLA: Predictions, what to watch for

The Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-3, 2-3) host the UCLA Bruins (2-5, 1-4) this weekend in Big Ten Football action at Memorial Stadium.

The Huskers are coming off a closely-contested loss to No. 4 Ohio State 21-17 and have lost two straight against ranked opponents. Big Red was blown out by No. 13 Indiana on the road on 56-7 on Oct. 19.

Meanwhile, the Bruins are coming off a bye week after defeating Rutgers on the road 35-32 on Oct. 19, their first win over a Big Ten team this season and second win since Week 1 against Hawaii.

It’s Nebraska’s first home game in four weeks and it’s the first time UCLA gets to play at Memorial Stadium since Sept. 14, 2013 when the Bruins defeated the Cornhuskers 41-21. UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley threw for 294 yards and three touchdowns, adding 78 rushing yards to his stat line in that game.

The two programs have played one another in three Rose Bowls, with UCLA winning two of them. Nebraska has the edge, going 7-6 all-time against the Bruins. Big Red also won the last game against UCLA, 37-29, in the 2015 Foster Arms Bowl.
