A day after a frustrated Matt Rhule said the Nebraska Cornhuskers were “looking at everything we’re doing” and bringing in some outside eyes, the team has reportedly added a highly regarded and experienced coach to the offensive staff.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, the Huskers are hiring former Houston and West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen as an offensive consultant.
Per Thamel, Holgorsen’s role “will evolve” over the rest of the season.
When asked about making any changes to help a sputtering offense on Monday, including possibly taking play-calling duties away from offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield, Rhule responded, “I think my job is always to consider everything.”
He added that he doesn’t have big issues with the play-calling before saying, “Are we gameplanning the right things during the week? That might be one of the questions we have to talk about and look at it.”
