Two days after sweeping Oregon , the Nebraska volleyball team finished off its road trip in the Pacific Northwest with a dominant sweep of Washington (25-17, 25-11, 25-21) on Saturday night.
The win extends the Huskers’ winning streak to 21 matches and is Nebraska’s 18th victory via sweep.
The Big Red is now 7-2 all-time against Washington.
Saturday’s match — the first between the program since a 2016 NCAA regional matchup — started out with some back and forth as each team felt the other out. However, the Huskers started to step on the gas shortly before the media timeout, using a 3-0 run to create a little distance after the Huskies tied it at 12. Nebraska never let go of that lead and finished on a 10-4 run to take Set No. 1.
The second set started how the first one ended, with Nebraska dominating. The Big Red scored six of the first seven points and 10 of the first 13 to go up early. An ace by Bergen Reilly right before the media timeout suddenly made it 15-6 Huskers and again closed strong on a 10-2 run.
