The Nebraska volleyball team rebounded from its first loss in nearly three months with a 3-1 win over Maryland on Saturday night (25-27, 25-14, 25-8, 25-12) to clinch a share of the Big Ten title.
The Huskers finish the regular-season 29-2 (19-1 in in conference play) and will now wait and see where they land in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday night.
Nebraska started slowly for a second straight night against the Terrapins. While the Huskers led for a good portion of the first frame, unforced errors came back to bite the Big Red. Several Huskers mishits not only let Maryland get back in it but also pull in front. Maryland closed on a 6-2 run to take a surprising 1-0 lead.
As mentioned, the Huskers struggled with errors throughout the set, finishing with nine plus two service errors in set No. 1.
However, the Big Red awakened after that.
The Huskers dominated the rest of the match, in part thanks to their block. Nebraska totaled just four blocks in the first set but had eight in the second, 12 in the third and another six in the fourth and final frame.
