The Nebraska Cornhuskers finished the 2024 regular season 6-6, their best record since 2016, when they went 9-4.
They still have one more game to play this season against Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl on Saturday at Yankee Stadium, but much attention has been focused on what’s next.
Luckily for any fan of Nebraska football, and especially quarterback Dylan Raiola, that has meant beefing up the offense for the immediate future.
In this case, like many programs, the Cornhuskers have focused heavily on the transfer portal and recently received a commitment from wide receiver Dane Key, who spent the previous three years with the Kentucky Wildcats.
This could prove to be a huge addition to the Cornhuskers’ offense because, in his three years with Kentucky, Kay accumulated 126 receptions, 1,870 yards and 13 touchdowns.
In 2024, Nebraska’s offensive production was lackluster, which is a big reason the team failed to win more games despite only allowing 19.8 points per game.
In all of college football, the Cornhuskers ranked 66th in passing yards per game (228.1), 20th in completion percentage (65.6%), 63rd in passing first downs per game (10.3) and 98th in points per game (23.8).
