Man arrested for shooting gun, fireworks on New Year’s Day in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A man was arrested early New Year’s Day in Lincoln after police say he fired a gun into the air and set off fireworks in a residential area. Officers responded to the area of North 30th and Apple Streets shortly after midnight on Wednesday, following reports of a man shooting a firearm. Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect, 44-year-old Ellory Harper of Canon, Georgia, lighting bottle rockets and fireworks.
