LINCOLN-(KFOR Jan. 8)-One person is dead, after a vehicle crashed into an apartment building not far from UNL’s East Campus. This happened shortly after 9pm Tuesday at 45th and Holdrege. Lincoln Police Lt. Jason Goodwin tells KFOR News preliminary reports show the vehicle was speeding westbound on Holdrege Street. It hit the north curb, lost control, struck a retaining wall, rolled, then hit a fire hydrant and hit an apartment complex building, ejecting the driver, a 41-year-old Lincoln man, who died at the scene. The name of the man is not being released at this time pending notifications to relatives.
