A summer like day is on the way Monday while a blizzard looms Wednesday morning

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Although St. Patrick’s Day will be sunny and warm with near record high temperatures, things will be changing significantly by Wednesday morning. Blizzard conditions will make for a very difficult if not impossible Wednesday morning commute. Let’s get right to it.

A Weather Alert Day has been issued on Wednesday due to the heavy wet snow and high winds. Gusts could peak at 60+ mph with whiteout conditions possible. Light to moderate accumulations are possible as well, but visibility will be the biggest concern.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued as a result of the expected winter storm.
