LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Lancaster County judge ruled Thursday that a man accused of killing a 76-year-old in a north Lincoln home is not mentally competent to stand trial.
The court reviewed evidence and determined that 46-year-old Alaric Harden is currently unable to proceed with trial. However, the judge believes Harden’s competency can be restored in the foreseeable future and ordered him committed to the Lincoln Regional Center for treatment. A competency status hearing is set for May 20 at 10 a.m.
