Digging Deeper into Domestic Violence: Inspired by Jamie Hagen, survivor speaks out

SEWARD, Neb. (KOLN) – It’s been more than a decade since a Seward woman left a domestic violence relationship with her daughter. Despite her abuser’s arrest for the torture she endured for five years, he took a plea deal, and was able to walk free after just a short prison sentence.

10/11 sat down with this survivor, who will go by the name Faith, to protect her identity. Her story highlights gaps in the criminal justice system — so many are aiming to fix.
