Spontaneous Combustion of Fuels Near Ammunition Blamed for NE Lincoln House Fire

LINCOLN–(KFOR Apr. 3)–One person and a pet were able to escape from smoke and flames, when a fire broke out just before 3am Thursday at a home off the southeast corner of 44th and Adams.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue public information officer MJ Lierman tells KFOR News a neighbor saw flames coming from a window. She says some ammunition was going off inside and the homeowner said it was from an ammunition reloading table, which started on fire. Lierman said the fire inspector determined the fire started through spontaneous combustion of some of the organic fuels that were in the utility room, near that ammunition reloading table.
