Man Arrested Following Sunday Morning Incident in South Bottoms Area

LINCOLN–(KFOR Apr. 8)–An arrest has been made related to a reported robbery and assault case from early Sunday in the South Bottoms area of Lincoln.

LPD says investigators were first called called Sunday afternoon to an apartment near 9th and “D” Street, where a 37-year-old man said that someone he knew, 46-year-old James Duncan, knocked on his door that morning and after he was let inside, Duncan allegedly held the victim at gunpoint, saying he could not leave. The victim told investigators Duncan had fired the gun three times, but not at him. Instead, the victim was hit in the head with the gun that left pain and swelling.

According to LPD, the victim later escaped, after Duncan got distracted by his dog getting loose. A search of the apartment on Monday led officers to find some shell casings, one live round and a bullet hole in the ceiling. Two loaded gun magazines and two empty handgun cases were also found…
