UNLPD investigates sextortion, theft in less busy week of campus crime

Following a busy week of crime on campus, police at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln reported a slight decrease in crime in the past week.

Officers are investigating another case of sextortion, a crime UNL Police Department Assistant Chief Marty Fehringer said is unfortunately frequently reported on campus. Sextortion is a crime that occurs when someone threatens to distribute explicit photos if a victim doesn’t provide them with money.
