Man charged in fatal stabbing of Lincoln woman in 2022 takes plea deal

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A man charged in the 2022 fatal stabbing of a Lincoln woman took a plea deal on Tuesday.

Charles Alexander, 64, was originally charged with second-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony. On Tuesday morning, he pled guilty to one count of manslaughter and faces up to 20 years in prison at his sentencing.

On Sept. 20, 2022, 36-year-old Jasimin Champion, of Lincoln, was stabbed in the neck at Contempo in the Highlands near North First and West Fairfield streets. She later died at a Lincoln hospital from her injuries…
