Work Continues on Building Wall for Pershing Mural at Wyuka Park

LINCOLN–(KFOR May 9)–The next phase of the Pershing Center Mural Project was unveiled on Thursday morning, with a large, concrete wall that will hold it in place at Wyuka Park, west of the cemetery.

The project has consisted of moving the large, 763,000 tile piece mural from the old Pershing Center before it was demolished in 2023 to Wyuka to preserve its history.

“The large block wall is ten feet tall. The mural itself will be above that wall, by about 38 feet,” contractor Mike McCullough said. “What you see there will be approximately four times taller.”…
