LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – To celebrate Give to Lincoln Day and the start of summer, Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach hosted an outdoor picnic dinner, raising about $275,000 for the fundraiser by Thursday evening.
Staff also gave facility tours to raise awareness about their programming, which goes beyond serving meals.
“That money goes right here,” Executive Director Alynn Sampson said. “We do meals two times a day, so lunch and dinner. We’re helping people, connecting them with housing resources, trying to get them into housing. We’re doing substance use evaluations, helping people get to treatment … All of those funds really help to sustain those services.”…
