Hot and breezy with severe storms possible Monday

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The hottest day of the year so far could be upon us, but a cold front will bring plummeting temperatures and the chance for severe weather as well.

Starting off with our highs, mid 80s to low 90s are likely with cooler conditions in the panhandle. By Tuesday those cooler temperatures are expected statewide with low to upper 60s. Winds could gust between 25-35 mph both days.

The first half to two thirds of the day will likely be quiet, but by the mid to late afternoon hours, showers and storms are expected to the northwest. Although not likely at this time we could see isolated showers and storms earlier in the day, which could be capable of severe weather as well. Regardless afternoon storms will gradually move southeast into the evening and overnight hours. Rain is likely into the day Tuesday as well…
