LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -For 23 years, the miles of bike trails in Lincoln have gotten a little extra love on one summer day for the annual Trail Trek hosted by the Great Plains Trails Network.
“It is a family friendly bike ride completely to support the trails of Lincoln,” Dena Noe, the committee chair for the Trail Trek, said. ‘We’re just here to build more trails.”
Taking off from Lincoln East High School on Sunday morning, 600 cyclists participated in one of six different routes as part of the event. According to organizers, that is one hundred more people than last year, showcasing the growth of biking enthusiasm they say they have seen in recent years…
