LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Bridge Behavioral Health currently has nine beds designated for withdrawal treatment.
Five of those beds were previously dedicated to medically monitored, or level 3.7, withdrawal care, where a nurse provides constant supervision to those whose symptoms require immediate medical attention.
But Executive Director Ed Thornbrugh said those beds are often underutilized and typically only necessary for more severe alcohol and opiate withdrawal cases. On average, only about two of those beds are filled each day…
