LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The driver who struck and killed a 62-year-old man west of Sun Valley Boulevard and West O Street last summer was sentenced to five years in prison on Monday.
According to court documents, 31-year-old Vanessa Nicole Williams was sentenced to five years in prison, and 18 months of post-release supervision, for reckless motor vehicle homicide and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
At 11:46 a.m. on July 20, 2024, the Lincoln Police Department and Lincoln Fire and Rescue were called after 62-year-old John Wayne Gross, who was seated on a raised center median, was struck by a westbound vehicle.
