Judge Laurie Yardley announces retirement after 30 years of service

LINCOLN, Neb. — County Court Judge Laurie J. Yardley of the Third Judicial District has announced her retirement, effective August 1, 2025, after three decades of service.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve the citizens of Lancaster County as a judge for the past thirty years. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to the administration of justice in the community,” said Governor, Yardley expressed her gratitude.

Appointed to the Lancaster County Court in 1995, Yardley has been a pivotal figure in the judiciary, recognized for her role as an advisor, mentor and accessible colleague.
