Lincoln Handweaver’s Guild forging friendships through fiber for nearly 80 years

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — In a basement near Lincoln’s 48th Street and Cooper Avenue exists an army of artisans bringing a fascinating and complex craft to life — weaving.

While the studio has open hours during the week, once a month a handspinning group meets as well — turning fibers among friends.

The rhythmic thud of wooden wheels and the metallic click of springs regularly echoes through the Handweaver’s Guild that’s existed in Lincoln for nearly eight decades…
