Man arrested after authorities find drugs, handgun, smoke grenade in Lincoln home

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A man on parole was arrested Monday after investigators found various drugs, a handgun and a smoke grenade inside his home, according to court documents.

Patrick Thompson, 32, was charged with possession of both cocaine and marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of a firearm with a felony drug violation, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a controlled substance and possession of money used or intended to be used to facilitate a drug exchange.

On Monday afternoon, investigators with the Lincoln Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force served search warrants on Thompson’s home, near 28th and L streets, and vehicle as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

According to the arrest affidavit, investigators located various marijuana and THC products, a wallet containing $1,627, multiple baggies of suspected cocaine, a Palmetto Arms 5.7 handgun, a handgun magazine containing one round of 5.7×28 ammunition, psilocybin mushrooms and a digital scale.
